Lola's 4!!!

Lola turned 4 this weekend...and I still can't believe she's that old. I still look at her as a 2 year old. :( She's quite the big girl, though. Here are some highlights from the birthday weekend...

Her new bike!
Her pretty rainbow cake....a personal request.

She wanted cinnamon rolls for breakfast, so we had a little practice for blowing out the candles on her cake.
The inside of the rainbow cake. Isn't it pretty?!!? And yummy, too. This took me a WHILE to make. A baker I am not, so this was quite a feat. But well worth it seeing the smile on her face when we cut into it.

Happy Birthday, Lola Marie! You are such a joy. We love you so very much!!

Wowza! Look at that cake! A friend of mine made the same one just a month or so ago. But I'd never seen it before. How'd you make it?

Thanks Sarah! It's just two white cake mixes separated each into thirds, so there are 6 bowls of batter. I added food coloring to each and baked two at a time (only because I only had two pans, you could do three at a time). Once cooled I frosted to layers, then froze for an hour. And kept this up until the last one was done. The freezing is VERY important so it doesn't tip or crumble down because of all the weight, it's HEAVY!

Try it! It was a process, but very fun!
